10 Unthinkable WrestleMania Records WWE Will Break Soon
7. Retaining A World Championship Three Years In A Row
Hulk Hogan walked into the first three WrestleManias as WWE Champion. If you think that's impressive, just you wait...
He didn't defend the belt at the first 'Mania, but put it on the line against King Kong Bundy and Andre The Giant at the next two Granddaddies; not a bad record for the man with the most main events on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Triple H has retained on three occasions, but they were split across an entire decade. It'll take a long reign to beat this record...
There can only be one, so acknowledge him.
There's no question that Roman Reigns is going to walk into WrestleMania 39 as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, but will he leave with the straps as well? If he can overcome the destiny of Cody Rhodes - like Brock Lesnar did to him at 'Mania 34 - the Big Dog will break the record for the most successful defences in a row.
Roman became Universal Champion at Payback 2020... of all the pay-per-views out there. He went into WrestleMania 37 with a match against Royal Rumble winner Edge, and Daniel Bryan for some reason. A year later, Reigns took on Brock Lesnar in the BIGGEST. MATCH. EVER. That one was a dud but the Tribal Chief left as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
This year he'll come up against Cody in a match that simply has to main event. It feels like Rhodes is the man to finally dethrone the leader of the The Bloodline, but Roman's nailed-on wins at 'Manias 31 and 34 against Lesnar, they didn't happen and must cast some doubt on the American Nightmare's supposed destiny.
If Roman Reigns can pull it off, this is another record that's up for grabs.
