It isn't easy being the highest-paid man in Hollywood.

Well, it probably is, but The Rock is certainly staying busy. Fast 8, Moana, and Baywatch are ready for release, San Andreas 2 and Shazam! have been announced, and he's currently involved with a continuation of 1995's Jumanji with director Jake Kasdan.

The People's Champ plays the tremendously-named Dr. Smolder Bravestone, and is currently filming Jumanji alongside co-stars Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. Specific plot details are thin on the ground at the moment, but as with the original film, 2017's Jumanji will see the titular board game come to life in magically dangerous ways.

It looks like they're having a ton of fun on set too:-

The original film grossed over $262 million in the box office, and while not exactly met with universal critical acclaim, Jumanji is well-remembered for its sense of adventure and heavy use of special effects. Said effects look incredibly dated in 2016, however, which makes the 1995 film a tough watch for anyone who didn't develop a fondness for it in their childhood.

All the information that has leaked thus far suggests another fun blend of action, humour, and adventure. The brand's revival has inveitably been met with backlash from certain sects of fans, but that's unavoidable. The Rock's presence pretty much guarantees a smash hit regardless of Jumanji's reception, and the film has been scheduled for a Jun 28, 2017 release.
