10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2020 (Part 1)

6. Smilin' All The Way

Kiera Hogan vs. Kylie Rae far exceeded any expectations it had coming into Rebellion. That doesn't mean there was ever any doubt it would be at the very least a good match, but it was far better than your writer thought it would be.

For the most part, it was a strike-heavy showdown, something that hugely benefited both performers in the match. Hogan busted out a nasty forearm smash that would make Chris Hero elated, while Rae preferred to utilise a big boot from the ring apron that almost knocked all of Kiera's teeth out of her mouth. Had Rebellion went ahead as planned, it's possible this is one of the matches that wouldn't have made the cut, seeing as there wasn't too much of a story coming into it. Thankfully though, we were treated to something really special.

Despite taking several nasty blows straight to the face, Kylie managed to cinch in her Smile To The Finish for the submission victory, continuing her impressive streak in Impact Wrestling. While it's a shame things didn't work out for her in All Elite Wrestling, there's no reason as to why Kylie wouldn't succeed in Impact. We've seen numerous matches in Impact time and time again, such as Jordynne Grace vs. Taya Valkyrie, so a fresh change of scenery wouldn't be such a bad thing.
