Of course, Jeri-KO aren’t the only tag team to have become embroiled in number one contender bouts. Big Cass was also given an opportunity to impress on Raw, and much like Owens he too won his qualifying match for next week’s Fatal Four Way.

Again, this is likely just a temporary pursuit and I doubt Big Cass’ partnership with Enzo is in any real jeopardy. Plus, Enzo was of course in Cass’ corner, so don’t expect this to be the sudden start of the big man’s run as a singles competitor on his own.

That being said though, rumour has it that the company are pretty high on Big Cass. So if he impresses in next week’s Fatal Four Way, that may simply speed-up the process of tragically splitting up Enzo and Cass and giving the latter a singles push.

Personally I still think it’s far too soon for that, but events on Raw would certainly suggest that it’s something in the back of WWE’s mind.
