10 Ways Finn Balor’s Injury Affects WWE

Another area of the card that could be indirectly affected by Finn Balor’s injury is the budding Raw tag division.

After their victory over Enzo and Cass at SummerSlam, Jeri-KO looked to be destined for bigger and better things as a tandem. Much like the previous case with Reigns though, their storyline was interrupted in order for both Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens to make up the numbers in this week’s number one contender matches.

Furthermore, Owens was actually victorious in his bout, meaning that he could go from being part of a promising new tag team one minute, to being the Universal Champion of the Raw brand the next.

Ultimately, I’d imagine that Owens’ involvement in the title scene is only a temporary measure, and that he’ll likely be back in action with Jericho in a matter of a week or two. Besides, Jericho and Owens very much had each other’s backs in their respective matches on Raw this week.

Still, there’s certainly a possibility (albeit it a rather slim one) that Balor’s injury could bring a premature end to the blossoming Jeri-KO alliance.
