10 Ways NXT Can Recapture Its Lost Buzz

9. Push Kushida To The Moon

Like many NXT debuts, Kushida struggled during his first year on the brand. He wasn't given much to do in terms of storylines and instead was relegated to having exhibition matches with the likes of Walter and RAW star Apollo Crews. The production value was there. He had a great look and a phenomenal entrance, but the push was seemingly non-existent.

Perhaps NXT don't know what they have with Kushida. He is one of the best cruiserweight talents in the world and is a master of in-ring storytelling. His offence is both exciting and technical, integrating mat-based wrestling with springboard moves.

There's a likeability and charm to Kushida that is very unique. His Time-Splitter gimmick is endearing when combined with his in-ring work. The possibilities are endless with Kushida. With the right booking he could be one of the purest babyfaces the company has seen since Daniel Bryan. Seemingly NXT are positioning him as a more dangerous performer after his match with Velveteen Dream so perhaps he could embrace this heel character as well. Either way, Kushida should be NXT Champion within the next 12 months.
