Cast your minds back to Vince McMahon standing atop WWE HQ with a beaming smile as he unfurled that "$9.99" flag in 2014.

McMahon's confidence was unerring, as it often is, but even he must have been trepidatious about the future of his company. After all, launching the WWE Network threatened to cut out the pay-per-view revenue the company was built on since the mid-'80s. This was a bold, bold step for McMahon and his empire.

That was four years ago, and the Network is still going strong. WWE's own financial reports for 2017 revealed the service had grossed $197.9 million in revenue, a number significantly higher than 2016's $180.9 million figure. It's also expected that the subscriber count will rise again during WrestleMania season this year.
