10 Ways To Improve & Innovate The WWE Network

3. Incomplete Shows

On the WWE Network, there have been way too many series that only contained a handful of episodes. The amount of different programs that appear when logged into the WWE Network is staggering, and not in a good way. At first glance, new subscribers might think, "Wow, there are dozens of shows on here", but what they will eventually be thinking is, "Wow, there are dozens of incomplete shows on here". The network interface looks like a group of WWE writers mentally vomited their ideas all over the screen; some good, some bad, but mostly unfinished. Take WWE Rivalries and WrestleMania Rewind, both great concepts. Again, the name leaves a lot to be desired, but WWE Rivalries is an original 60-minute production looking at some of the bigger feuds seen in pro-wrestling over the years. After the first seven episodes, a new one wasn't released until ten months later and after that, only two more followed. WrestleMania Rewind was promising and still has a ton of potential episodes left on the table, but the last one aired over 15 months ago. Plus, why not expand to SummerSlam Rewind, Royal Rumble Rewind, or Survivor Series Rewind? These are just a couple examples of shows with great concepts that are never continued or, worse, are outright abandoned halfway through what appears to be the first season. Oftentimes, these original shows are just undercooked ideas that should not have been green-lit until maturing into a full-length, completed show. Instead of jumping from filming one show to beginning production on the next, the writing team should be fully committing to a project until it is finished. That team should also ensure they have enough content before building a whole new show around an idea. It's obvious that producing multiple shows simultaneously is not working since too many programs are being neglected.
