10 Ways To Make WWE's Brand Split More Compelling
2. Have It Be About The Wrestlers

Survivor Series this year is not about Raw vs. SmackDown. It's not about Kevin Owens vs. A.J. Styles or Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch. It's only about Stephanie McMahon vs. Shane McMahon. WHO CARES?
This booking philosophy should be incredibly embarrassing for the McMahon family, but they're so oblivious that they don't know how to promote wrestling anymore and so it likely doesn't occur to them how damaging this is.
Stephanie has spent every week leading up to the show browbeating each member of her team to the point that they feel less special than they did before Raw began that night. Shane, meanwhile, still believes he's a super hero at the age of 46, despite the fact that he never learned how to throw a believable punch.
None of it makes any sense, because SmackDown is basically positioned as the babyface side since Shane is a face. Why would WWE willingly make one of their shows seem like the evil show? Stephanie pointed out that the Raw brand was being booed by the audience WHO WAS AT RAW, however, she likely didn't take any further note of that in her mind, and realize that's a damaging thing for the entire company.
Just take the two owners out of it, and focus on the wrestlers themselves. The goal is to get fans to someday dream of a Roman/Cena match or Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens (again). I hope nobody out there is dreaming of Steph vs. Shane in a ring...but pushing everything as one McMahon kid vs. the other makes the task of getting this feud over infinitely harder than it should be.
