10 Ways WWE Have Already Weakened Sting's Relevance
9. Unfamiliar Entrance Music
When Sting was announced for WWE 2K15, they did it with one of their coolest adverts yet. It depicts a string orchestra playing a haunting version of his most iconic WCW theme music, then as he arrives they turn to face the camera and are revealed to all be wearing Sting make-up, as the commercial reveals the man himself. However, when Sting arrived in WWE he was ushered in by the unfamiliar tones of what was likely a Jim Johnston or CFO$ production. While it was obvious who was appearing due to the images on the Titantron, the new music was jarring for many fans, as it took them out of what was supposed to be a landmark moment in wrestling history. It gets worse when the video game is taken back into consideration, because in WWE 2K15 Sting has his classic theme as standard for his Crow incarnation. It seems like whenever the video game comes out, theres always a number of things that have changed during production but this is something WWE could have controlled. WWE are presenting Sting to audiences as if the last ten years didn't happen, and they want people to see him as the iconic Sting he was in WWE. Unfortunately, they have to put their own spin on everything and just like the nickname, his music is an unnecessary addition to an iconic character.
