1. Take Some Cues From Lucha Underground
Right around the time Lucha Underground started, the superhero craze was really gaining steam. It was around this time that Marvel announced their 'Phase' plans, and the dozens of movies that were going to follow. Lucha Underground captured this feeling of larger than life superheroes fighting battles that were much greater than simply titles and pinfalls.
If the current movie and TV landscape has shown anything, it is that superhero stuff sells and it sells big with teenagers. Lucha Underground, with its strange backstage segments, huge characters, in depth backstories, supernatural leanings and cool cinematography was the closest wrestling had ever gotten to the pages of a superhero comic.
LU may be almost dead, but they were innovators and may have figured out how to film and produce their wrestling in a way that really could capture the teenage audience.
