10 Ways WWE Has Screwed Up Its Women's Division

6. Lack Of Character Development

Ask yourself: Who is [ANY WOMAN ON RAW OR SMACKDOWN]? What do they stand for? What makes them tick?

The simple fact is that there is next to no character development of women on the main roster these days. Sure, the ones who have been around for a while are established, but nearly every other woman is a blank slate. You don’t know what drives them or anything interesting about them.

It’s hard to get invested in the women’s division when you can’t relate to or understand what drives any of the women on the roster. Most of them are two-dimensional warm bodies in the ring, interchangeable parts that are really indistinguishable from one another.

When was the last time Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Naomi, Mia Yim (or Reckoning) or Liv Morgan said anything interesting? Nikki Cross has de-evolved as a character from a crazed lunatic, to Alexa Bliss’ sidekick, to a dweeb who celebrates “winning” beat-the-clock challenges by surviving 2 minutes. Nia Jax is now a one-dimensional character who is obsessed with Reginald.

And we’ll get to Rhea Ripley later.
