10 Ways WWE Have Shot Themselves In The Foot At WrestleMania 31

5. No-One Is Allowed To Get Over

Anyone who watched Raw this past week will have seen just how unbelievably over Curtis Axel and #AXELMANIA was in New Jersey. The crowd went nuts for his claim of still being in the Royal Rumble, and were solidly behind him with duelling chants of €œAXELMANIA€€ and €œCENA SUCKS!€ during his match. If you didn€™t get a chance to watch Raw and caught up on YouTube, you wouldn€™t know it, because WWE piped in a bunch of boos aimed at Axel at the start of the clip. It€™s complete hypocrisy on WWE€™s part, as they always say they want talent to get over on their own, but if it doesn€™t fit their narrative they€™ll just change the video the next day. This is a problem that€™s been going on for years, as back when The Legacy were still around, an episode of Raw went off the air with the crowd solidly chanting €œCODY! CODY!€ after Randy Orton had attacked Dusty Rhodes and Cody was conflicted over what to do about it. All repeats of this episode of Raw instead went off the air to chants of €œLET€™S GO CENA!€ robbing the young Cody Rhodes of a star-making moment. It must be incredibly demoralising to a midcard WWE wrestler to look at someone like Curtis Axel, or especially someone like Zack Ryder and realise that no matter what you do, unless you€™re hand-picked, you€™re not going to make a difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s-LBQUmJro
