Anyone who watched Raw this past week will have seen just how unbelievably over Curtis Axel and #AXELMANIA was in New Jersey. The crowd went nuts for his claim of still being in the Royal Rumble, and were solidly behind him with duelling chants of AXELMANIA and CENA SUCKS! during his match. If you didnt get a chance to watch Raw and caught up on YouTube, you wouldnt know it, because WWE piped in a bunch of boos aimed at Axel at the start of the clip. Its complete hypocrisy on WWEs part, as they always say they want talent to get over on their own, but if it doesnt fit their narrative theyll just change the video the next day. This is a problem thats been going on for years, as back when The Legacy were still around, an episode of Raw went off the air with the crowd solidly chanting CODY! CODY! after Randy Orton had attacked Dusty Rhodes and Cody was conflicted over what to do about it. All repeats of this episode of Raw instead went off the air to chants of LETS GO CENA! robbing the young Cody Rhodes of a star-making moment.
