10 WCW Rip-Offs That Helped WWE Win The Monday Night War
3. The Radical Revolution
At the turn of the millennium, The Revolution in WCW consisted of Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, and Shane Douglas. The entire concept of the stable was a group of young, hungry talent, banded together by a common belief that they were being held back by veteran headliners.
The Revolution would have likely been at the very forefront of 21st century WCW, as the older crop of stars were beginning to wind down and a roster reshuffle was imminent. Unfortunately for Douglas, the exodus of three quarters of his group saw The Revolution's ascent stopped dead in its tracks.
One of the more understated influences in the Monday Night War, the decision of Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn to jump ship to WWF with Eddie Guerrero was a pivotal moment in the WCW downfall. Losing these four men at the same time not only robbed WCW of it's reigning World Heavyweight Champion (Benoit), but it also robbed WCW of its future at the same time.
Replacing Douglas with Guerrero in the WWF, The Revolution were relabelled as The Radicalz and instantly became the hottest faction in wrestling. Unfortunately, they were quickly mismanaged as a group but the fact remained; they were WWF talent now and no longer contributing to the WCW fight for survival.
