The big Team Authority versus Team WWE match at Survivor Series 2014 was one of the most hyped bouts of the entire year, with the stipulation that if Team WWE won, the Authority would be disbanded forever -- but if Team Authority won, Team WWE (sans leader John Cena) would be fired from the company. Naturally, Cena put together the best team he could find, recruiting Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, and The Big Show to join his squad.

While Cena tried to convince Ryback to join his team, the Authority orchestrated a series of attacks on the confirmed members. Sheamus's was the most severe, as the former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion was put through a table and promptly announced as out of the Survivor Series main event. Cena got Ryback to join the team, and in Sheamus's stead came former Wyatt Family member Erick Rowan.

As for Sheamus, nobody knows why he was announced for the match and then removed, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed that while doing the angle, Sheamus suffered an actual injury. WWE has been tight-lipped in recent years when it comes to details regarding talent injuries, but Sheamus had to undergo surgery and miss four months of action -- all because of a "fake" injury.
