10 Weirdest Things WWE Ever BANNED
4. Third Party Platforms
Another truly ridiculous WWE ban to tumble out of pandemic times came in the form of the company's decision to suddenly forbid its stars from using any third party platforms such as Twitch to earn additional income during one of the hardest periods in recent history.
Needless to say, the reaction to this September 2020 edict was pretty negative for the most part, with the likes of Saraya, Zelina Vega, and others all rebelling against the call. Even AEW took a shot at their rival's heartless ruling, with Kip Sabian happily plugging his Twitch at All Out 2020 with a "THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN APPROVED BY ALL ELITE WRESTLING" statement accompanying him on-screen.
Thankfully, WWE would eventually reverse this decision down the road as eventual co-CEO Nick Khan would reportedly confirm back in April during a talent meeting, with Cameos, scripted & unscripted programming, and signings all being mentioned.
And with stars such as Drew Gulak now officially returning to the Twitch sphere, and even thanking "Papa H" for said comeback in the process, it does seem as though the dumb period of banning stars from making money via these particular platforms are coming to an end.
That being said, WWE still felt Mandy Rose's recent FanTime side hustle fell "outside the parameters" of her WWE contract and controversially didn't hesitate to release the star after feeling they'd been put in a tough situation.
