10 Wild Wrestlers Who Oversold Throughout Their WWE Careers
1. Dolph Ziggler
You don't get nicknamed "The Show-Off" without being a flashy, athletic, braggadocios performer that sells every move as if being hit with a shotgun blast...even if you did create the nickname yourself.
Dolph Ziggler is arguably the biggest over-seller of all-time, a notion that can be confirmed by watching almost any match that Ziggler's worked (especially as a babyface). Often compared to Mr. Perfect and Shawn Michaels, Ziggler's struggled with creating his own identity and place in history in part due to his over-selling.
Unfortunately for Ziggler, his ability to take a good beating has done damage to his character. Often times, it doesn't take much offense from an opponent to put Ziggler on the mat, selling for an extended period, and it makes him look weak.
At the same time, Ziggler's over-selling and amazing athleticism are among the key reasons for his success, having been with the WWE organization for over a decade. He just needs to rein it in a bit and stand out by doing something else - in addition to being a human superball. It's a task that's easier said than done, but Ziggler needs to give fans a different reason to support him.
If he does that and finally gets the major heel push that he deserves, comparisons to Hennig and Shawn are likely to go beyond his over-selling.
