10 Wild WWE Matches You Forgot Almost Happened

Wrestler vs. boxer matches have a spotty history. Roddy Piper vs. Mr. T stands out as historic because it happened at WrestleMania, but then there were hopeless bores like Marc Mero vs. Butterbean and Arn Anderson vs. Johnny B. Badd (Mero again) over in WCW. It's a concept that just doesn't really work.

Triple H once told WWE's website that he was lined up to meet Mike Tyson in a boxing-come-wrestling bout at 'Mania X-Seven, and it would've happened had Tyson not asked for "a ludicrous amount of money". This, of course, would've come three years after 'Iron' Mike worked with Trips during the build towards 'Mania XIV in 1998.

Hunter wrestled The Undertaker at X-Seven in the end, and he's glad he did. That match became one of his firm favourites, and is a true overlooked gem. The same surely couldn't have been said about Triple H vs. Tyson with gloves. They were going to go six three-minute rounds. Six!

That's a torturous thought.
