10 Wild WWE Matches You Forgot Almost Happened

3. The Demon vs. Sister Abigail (TLC 2017)

See above for a match graphic WWE used to hype Finn Bálor's 'Demon' vs. Bray Wyatt as 'Sister Abigail' before TLC 2017. Skits showing Bray as 'Abigail' did air on Raw, but illness prevented him from appearing on the pay-per-view - AJ Styles wound up replacing Wyatt and doing the honours for Finn.

Who knows how 'Demon' vs. 'Abigail' would've worked anyway?

WWE were blatantly hoping fans would stump up cash to see what Wyatt as his then-mythical family spinoff would've looked like. Bray skipping TLC meant creative quietly shelved the feud completely and moved on to other things. That might've been for the best, being brutally honest.

Finn's 'Demon' continued along until running into a brick wall vs. Roman Reigns in 2021. That damaging situation and the dire rope break angle wrecked Bálor's offshoot gimmick, but there's a chance the match vs. 'Sister Abigail' might've done that first in 2017.

Be glad this didn't air.
