The story of Joanie 'Chyna' Laurer remains one of the most curious in pro wrestling history. Laurer's side of the story is that she was forced out of WWE (then known as the WWF) in 2001, because she was outspoken about the breakdown of her relationship with Triple H. Claims that 'The Game' cheated on her with Stephanie McMahon are not the only ones Chyna has made. This year, the former WWF Intercontinental Champion claimed that Triple H had also physically abused her. Saying that her former lover struck her following an argument, Chyna sparked a lot of controversy insisting that the incident took place. WWE and Triple H released a statement shortly afterwards, declaring the allegations as categorically false. Even Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman, himself a former boyfriend of Chyna, has hit out at her claims. Encouraging the woman to tell the truth, Waltman has been very vocal on the situation. Others, such as Mick Foley and Vince Russo, have said that Chyna needs help, and requires love and support with her mental health. Stirring comments such as allegations of domestic abuse are not taken lightly, and Triple H was reportedly furious when he was made aware.
