If only John Cena vs. The Miz could have lived up to the video packages that preceded their entrances into the Georgia Dome at WrestleMania 27.

Instead, Cena and Miz delivered a mediocre main event that was hampered by the crowd anxiously anticipating a run-in by The Rock, whose personal rivalry with Cena had intensified in the weeks ahead of the event.

The Miz was never once portrayed as a Superstar deserving of his spot on the show, nor was he presented like a credible WWE champion. He was, rather, a plot device in the Cena-Rock storyline - and the fans knew it. They were silent for the match, uncaring as two of the top Raw Superstars in WWE waged war for the most prestigious title in the company.

By the time Rock did arrive, he was greeted with a hero's welcome for breaking up the boredom that the match had inspired.

Pacing issues, a lack of investment from fans and complete letdown by WWE Creative in crafting a champion in The Miz that the audience could believe in hampered the match before the bell even rang. The product itself did the workers no favors, and the result is one of the more disappointing WrestleMania main events ever.
