6. Goldberg Wins TV Style Squash Match In Main Event - Halloween Havoc 2000
As the fanbase was dwindling away, WCW stacked one of their bigger annual shows to try and bring in the viewers by closing the pay-per-view with an epic showdown between two world class competitors vying for a title and prestige after a brilliantly executed storyline that had the audience salivating to see them square off, giving us a satisfying resolution to a hard-fought blood feud. You didnt believe that did you? Good, because it was actually a handicap squash match. Youve got Scott Steiner and Booker T, two of the lone bright spots in the companys death throes, fighting for the world title in the second-to-last match ending with a bullsh*t disqualification which left a bad taste in the mouths of fans. So what do they follow that up with? Goldberg vs. Kronik, 1 vs. 2. Kronik was a tag team consisting of Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke, cut from the same cloth as the APAtake two meandering mid-carders and put them together to create an *sskicking duo, They were a solid team, were booked strong and had some good matches (before they got ruined in their very brief stint in WWE), but nothing devalues a team quicker than having them lose in 3 minutes to one guy. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2t3go_goldberg-vs-kronik-halloween-havoc_sport It was the same Goldberg match wed all seen a thousand times. Just a quick squash where he hits his big spots and everyone goes home happy, which would have been fine for a random Thunder, but not the last match on one of WCWs marquee events.
