10 Worst Wrestling Name Changes

Chad Gable is a fantastic in-ring performer, with a great look, reputation, promo skills and a sense of heart, but what does WWE see the most; his height, of course. WWE's long history of disregarding slightly shorter wrestlers is well documented, but this decision to mockingly brand the talented Chad Gable by his stature was nothing short of ridiculous.

Times hadn't been going too well for the former member of American Alpha for some time when he received this name change, as his team with Jason Jordan had been long broken up, and he was at the losing end of a feud with Baron Corbin. It was this wrestler who branded him "Shorty Gable", which became his actual billed name for some reason.

Although it's mostly terrible, there are some ways in which a name like this could work. If it was given to a comedy wrestling specialist, maybe they could work around it, but it made no sense with Gable, as his specialities revolved around being a sound technical wrestler.

Sometimes, WWE seems to be high on their craziness, and this renaming was undoubtedly one of those times.
