6. Charlotte Vs. Natalya

Charlotte might be one of the crown jewels of the Women’s Revolution at the moment, but this certainly wasn’t the case towards the start of the year. She has improved leaps and bounds in her all-round performance throughout 2016, but things just weren’t clicking for her early on, and this was never more apparent than during her feud with Natalya.

Charlotte and Nattie put on an outstanding singles at the original NXT TakeOver in May 2014, but they couldn’t repeat their success on the main roster. Charlotte’s main roster run had been mired by clumsy promos and sloppy matches, but instead of pairing her up with the popular Becky Lynch or Sasha Banks, WWE chose perennial underachiever Natalya as Charlotte’s first post-Mania challenger.

For all her qualities as a wrestler, Natalya’s never been the most charismatic worker. She has immense trouble on the microphone, and has struggled to convey genuine personality throughout her time in WWE. These deficiencies were continually exposed throughout this feud, and after two consecutive pay-per-view matches and a terrible attempt at recreating the Montreal Screwjob, fans breathed a sigh of relief when this one ran its course.
