10 Worst WWE Matches Of 2021 (So Far)

1. Damian Priest Vs The Miz (WrestleMania Backlash)

You just...

You just can't...just do this.

Well, you can. WWE did. But this exhibition of yet more bar-lowering from a company that has had to dig trenches to accommodate it over the last few years was just another crushing reminder of how far standards have slipped. All 10 matches in this list are reflections of that in their own way, but this grubby crossover stunt took one of WrestleMania weekend's biggest positives and buried it six feet deep.

Or deeper, because apparently it'd only come back and follow the rules of a Lumberjack Match if they'd done that.

Damian Priest and The Miz were set to have one last singles match at WrestleMania Backlash to tie up the lingering loose ends from Bad Bunny's big night out on the 'Show Of Shows'. Perhaps mindful of how impossible it was to promote such a "match" ahead of time, the company failed to mention that this particular B-Show was being sponsored by Army Of The Dead. Not that this needed to matter - your writer doesn't recall a giant f*cking crispy M&M doing a run-in during the Attitude Era.

You know the rest, because lame notoriety is the only wider attention WWE is getting at present. Zombies followed the rules of a stipulation, enjoyed John Morrison with with some fava beans and a nice chianti, The Miz sustained his first serious injury in nearly 20 years doing this, and Priest had to grin along like a tw*t.

For f*cks sake man. We're a Macho Libre Ladder Match at the next TakeOver away from toasting WWECW as a golden era.
