10 Worst WWE Moments Of 2000
1. Mae Young Gives Birth To A Hand
Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Well, everybody tuning into the 28 February 2000 Raw must've felt like a loser once the WWF aired this segment. Backstage, known hard nut (and pensioner willing to threaten Bubba-Ray Dudley to lay it in when putting her through a table) Mae Young was giving birth. The announcers wondered aloud what would happen, but no-one was prepared. No-one. If you'd taken a pop quiz on what'd come out of Mae's womb, "a human hand" would not have been anywhere on the list.
That's a 0 point answer on Pointless for sure. Don't expect the UK quiz show to ever run this question though.
Mae had already flashed the prosthetics to win the "Miss. Rumble 2000" contest at Royal Rumble in January. A month later, Young birthed a jellied human hand live on the flagship. It was enough to turn every wrestling fan's stomach. Even Mark Henry, who apparently impregnated Mae, was horrified nearby. Say a prayer for anyone sitting down to a big bowl of pudding when they were watching Raw.
Light a candle in their memory, then use it to burn the scripts for this particular edition of Raw.
WWE brought the hand back for an unexpected cameo in 2012 at Raw 1000. Impossibly, the 12 year old erm...baby was a fully-grown man-hand. How's that for a sentence to close things out? There's no point in beating around the bush - Mae birthing some gooey digits was one of the most gag-worthy skits to ever air on WWF/WWE TV.
