10 Worst WWE United States Title Matches Of The Modern Era
6. Rusev Vs. Titus O'Neil (Money In The Bank 2016)
The most recent match to take place on this list does feature a performer who more often than not excels. Rusev had an awful 2015, but WWE's writing team have started to once again get it right with the 'Bulgarian Brute' this year. As WWE United States Champion, he's often made to look dominant.
At Money In The Bank 2016, he most certainly did look like a wrecking ball, but that sadly can't change the fact that his match against Titus O'Neil just didn't cut it. Due to his 'foreign heel menace' slant, Rusev is usually booked against 'American Hero' style characters, even if that opponent is only using such patriotism for one night.
O'Neil avoided this (at least on this occasion) in favour of playing on the Father's Day theme. His sons were positioned at ringside, and Rusev's arrogance towards those boys proved to the highlight of the entire segment.
Rubbing the fact he had beaten their dad in the faces of O'Neil's children was far more entertaining for Rusev's heel character.
