10 WrestleMania 33 Mistakes WWE Can’t Repeat At 34
9. Failing To Properly Plan The Battle Royal Winner's Future
Mojo Rawley's triumph in the annual André The Giant Memorial Battle Royal did exactly nothing for him. What WWE like to consider a launching point for someone's career is more like a throwaway attempt to honour Andre's name. Make no mistake, the deceased Giant is the star of the show here, not the eventual winner.
Rawley's fortunes, or lack of them, in 2017 are proof of that. After winning the Battle Royal and posing with NFL star Rob Gronkowski, Mojo must have been miffed to see runner-up Jinder Mahal go on to become WWE Champion and a more important member of the SmackDown roster. Meanwhile, Rawley turned heel and lost any and all momentum he had from WrestleMania 33.
That can't happen again. If WWE are serious about paying tribute to André's memory, then they must plot out an actual post-WrestleMania plan for 2018's winner.
Standing next to the statue and posing on the night isn't enough.
