10 WrestleMania Matches That Shouldn't Have Sucked (But Did)

8. Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart (WrestleMania XXVI)

Over a decade in the making, ever since the infamous events of the 'Montreal Screwjob' at the 1997 Survivor Series Pay-Per-View, wrestling enthusiasts wondered what might happen should Bret Hart get his hands on Vince McMahon. Had this bout taken place years before, it's possible it would have worked, but by 2010, Bret wasn't the most steady on his feet, following an unfortunate stroke in 2002. Imagine the heat for McMahon vs. Hart around the turn of the millennium? It would never have happened, sure, but it would have been mind-blowing. Sadly, things were a lot more tepid at WrestleMania XXVI. It's difficult to see things playing out any other way, simply due to the frosty relationship between both men, and the aforementioned health problems for Hart. That said, surely they could have come up with something better than the 'Hitman' borderline acting like a heel, thumping McMahon relentlessly with chair shots. The live crowd didn't really know how to take it all, because there didn't appear to be any chance the supposed bad guy, Vince, could win. Not only was he offered little-to-no offence, but practically the entire Hart clan surrounded the ring, and Bret's brother Bruce was the referee. Wasted opportunity.
