10 WrestleMania Matches We’re Still Waiting To See
1. The Undertaker Vs. John Cena
Aside from Sting, there’s still one more WrestleMania match that The Undertaker is yet to check off his well-exhausted bucket list, and more to the point, it’s one that has a better chance of actually taking place one day: Undertaker vs. John Cena.
Cena’s one of very few megastar names who’ve yet to tackle ‘Taker at ‘Mania, and with the illustrious streak now dead and buried, there isn’t such a risk of the kind of fan backlash that might have met this match if it had taken place a few years ago.
After cropping up in the pre-WrestleMania conversation for the past couple of years, this one looked like it may finally be on the cards for this year's show. Back in January, with Cena challenging for the WWE title and ‘Taker entering the Royal Rumble, it was certainly a feasible pairing. But even when Cena faded from the title picture, the two could easily have been put together in non-title action: it’s not like either of these two need any kind of championship to make them relevant.
Instead though, Cena now finds himself in a mixed tag match alongside Nikki Bella versus The Miz and Maryse, while ‘Taker will settle his beef with Roman Reigns over who has the right to refer to the ring as their 'yard'—neither of which sounds quite as compelling as Cena vs. Undertaker.
Though there’s still time to see this one happen, if it doesn’t go down at ‘Mania 34, then we may have to consign this one to the same ‘what if?’ category as the previous Undertaker vs. Sting entry.
