Demolition Ax and Smash were three-time WWE Tag Team Champions from 1988 to 1990. Their first reign was a record 478 days only broken recently by The New Day’s 483-day reign. Demolition’s championship reigns occurred in arguably the most talented tag team era in WWE history. The tag team division included The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Brain Busters, and The Rockers among others. However, Demolition has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and may never be.

After Bill Eadie aka Demolition Ax left WWE in 1990, he attempted to revive the team with a number of different partners. This led to WWE sending out a cease and desist order and Eadie filing an unsuccessful lawsuit to gain the rights to the Demolition gimmick.

Then, in July 2016, both Eadie and Barry Darsow aka Demolition Smash were part of a class-action lawsuit alleging they incurred traumatic brain injuries while wrestling for WWE and the company did not disclose the risks. There may be too much negative history for one of WWE’s greatest tag teams to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
