10 Wrestlers That Got BANNED From AEW
3. Ace Steel
This is part of a twin punch, so to speak.
That's perhaps a poor choice of wording due to what happened backstage following AEW's All Out 2022 pay-per-view. We're over 3 years on from that saga, and yet it's something people still talk about. According to write-ups after the fracas, All Elite producer Ace Steel scuffled with members of The Elite and actually bit Kenny Omega. Who does he think he is, Shayna Baszler or something?!
Seriously though, this was only ever going to end with Ace departing the company. AEW announced that Steel had been let go a short while later, but Tony Khan did bring him back a few months later before cutting Ace loose for a second time in September 2023. During his second go-around, Steel largely worked as a remote figure. Being fair, it might not have been a good idea to let him and The Young Bucks/Omega around one another too often.
That could well be a wrap on Steel's time with the promotion then. He's been working as a producer for TNA since leaving AEW, and likely has no real urge to look back towards the past anyway. That 'Brawl Out' drama was on everybody's lips for a long, long time, but Ace would presumably like to leave it in 2022 and move on.
Similarly, Omega (as a vital cog in the AEW machine) would surely get in Tony's ear if he heard rumblings that Steel was on the comeback trail. The last thing anyone needs is to be bitten a second time.
