10 Wrestlers Turning 40 In 2017
4. Jeff Hardy
There aren't many stars in wrestling history who have spent as much time under the spotlight as Jeff Hardy. He was only 16 when he first started competing for WWE as an enhancement talent, and his full-time signing at the age of 20 made him a pioneer. Within a couple of years, he had captured numerous titles and earned a reputation as wrestling's premier daredevil.
Success took its toll on Hardy, though. In 2003, he left WWE amidst issues with substance abuse and turned up in TNA. Though he still had problems with reliability, Hardy returned to WWE in 2006. This time, he seemed to be in better condition, and his rise to the top was meteoric - eventually, he shocked the world by capturing the WWE World Championship. A feud with CM Punk was a perfect way for Hardy to go out before taking a break, but a drug arrest after leaving WWE ensured he wouldn't be back in the company anytime soon.
Hardy returned to TNA, where his issues were infamously visible during a match with Sting. After that, though, he seemed to get back on track. Today, Hardy wrestles as "Brother Nero," teaming with "Broken Matt" in a reformed Hardy Boyz tandem. His renewed health and relevance are needed - Hardy, who turns 40 on August 31, 2017, wants another run in WWE.
