1. Hiroshi Tanahashi And Kazuchika Okada

There's a strong argument to be made that Hiroshi Tanahashi versus Kazuchika Okada is the greatest feud in wrestling history. The two men have been archrivals since 2012, and the result has been unbelievable matches, great business, and the birth of a superstar.

Okada, who had previously been a young lion in New Japan, returned to the company in 2012 as "The Rainmaker" and challenged IWGP Heavyweight Champion Tanahashi. His subsequent win was a major upset, and showed the world that Okada was a top player. Over the course of the next couple of years the two battled more, with Okada typically having Tanahashi's number.

When Okada lost the IWGP Title to AJ Styles, though, it was Tanahashi who succeeded where "The Rainmaker" had failed, defeating "The Phenomenal One" for the belt. That set up a clash at Wrestling Kingdom 9, where Tanahashi turned back Okada in another five-star bout.

In 2015, though, the men would find themselves in opposite roles. This time, Styles won the title from Tanahashi and Okada would recapture it, leading to a showdown with G1 Climax winner Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 10.

On January 4, 2016, the two men had a bout that many are calling the greatest match of all time. Both men had trouble taking the lead due their opponent's familiarity with their arsenals, and after a 36-minute war, Okada put Tanahashi down to become New Japan's new ace.

While it's likely Tanahashi and Okada will face off again in the future, the meat of their feud is over. That's a shame for millions of fans who would have loved to have seen them fight forever... or just a little bit longer.
