10 Wrestlers Who Are The Best In The World At Exactly ONE Thing

3. Randy Orton: Selling A Match

The dichotomy of Randy Orton is maddening. For two decades, WWE's 'Viper' has proven himself second-to-none at building a match through outstanding promos and character work delivered via a well-paced build, only to lay an egg and revert to his worst impulses when the bell rings. See WrestleMania 36 for the latest example: Orton and Edge's brilliant programme yielded a plodding, artless sludger.

Thank god for Backlash.

That Orton is currently enjoying one of the most compelling years of his career makes this entry even more pertinent. Reviving his 'Legend Killer' gimmick throughout the Edge feud has reminded even the biggest cynics of how great Orton can be when he really dials into his character. Brutal, cold-blooded, uncaring, sociopathic: he is all these things and more, and still the best at making his fight feel like the most important on any card.

By its conclusion, Orton vs. Edge will go down as a classic, all-time great WWE feud, despite the WrestleMania 36. Not to discredit the babyface's role in this, but much of it is down to the 'Viper,' who remains wrestling's greatest salesman.
