10 Wrestlers Who BADLY Need A New WWE Superstar Shake-Up

Pitting Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Adam Cole against Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, and Aleister Black, WWE's Halftime Heat revival was an all-out spotfest more akin to PWG than anything that goes down in WWE's monster spotlight. It was as fun a popcorn bout as any company will deliver all year, but it really highlighted the major logjam at the top of the black and gold brand's card.

NXT needs a clear-out. Desperately. These wrestlers are great, and being in NXT allows them to hit in-ring heights that'd be impossible on the main roster, but they're hampering the next generation by sticking around. The likes of Matt Riddle and Keith Lee shouldn't have to wait a million months for a top opportunity, yet this is the reality in WWE's overstocked developmental talent pool at the moment.

Of these names, Black is in the most danger of getting lost in the shuffle. His NXT Championship aspirations look like they're over. There's nothing left for him to do, and keeping him around much longer risks diminishing returns on his one-of-a-kind gimmick. It's time to move him on.

A role on SmackDown would suit him nicely.
