10 Wrestlers Who Buried Their OWN Promotions

8. Chris Jericho Blasts "Awful" WWF

WCW would soon hit the skids, but the 'Monday Night Wars' still raged on when Chris Jericho made his jump to the WWF in the summer of 1999. In one of his books, 'Y2J' recalled how little regard Vince McMahon had for him during his first few years in the company. So, it's remarkable that Vinnie Mac let Jericho's earliest promo material slide.

He was an incoming WCW star, so probs had to walk on eggshells backstage. In front of the cameras, things were different - Chris blasted everything the fed had to offer. When he wasn't calling out The Undertaker for his "boring" promos, Jericho was appearing on pay-per-views like Unforgiven and talking about how the show was "awful".

Wow.

One would've imagined that McMahon and several other WWF hardcores might pull Jericho to one side and (im)politely remind him to keep his mouth shut. Apparently not, because this continued for the first few months of his debut run. Chris Jericho was literally burying the WWF he'd just joined on air.
