10 Wrestlers Who Could Become UK's First WWE Champion
2. Pete Dunne
Like arch-nemesis Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne caught the headlines this year following a turn in the UK Championship tournament, from which he emerged as one of the stand-outs after a tense run in with organisers William Regal and Triple H.
With a snarky grin and the attitude of a hormonal teenager (well, he is still only 23, to be fair), Dunne has quickly established himself as a classic win-at-all-costs heel, the type of which you sense could easily thrive in today's WWE, where so many characters appear almost indistinguishable.
The Birmingham boy is a touch slight compared to most WWE Champions, but an indifference to the rules can often be an equaliser, and - as a heel at least - he could therefore be a believable heavyweight force in a few years' time.
