10 Wrestlers Who Could Debut (Or Return) On AEW Collision

8. Andrade El Idolo

AEW's reputed brand split is said to be coming into effect when Collision launches and if bridges are being built to get CM Punk back on board, it may be prudent to do the same with Andrade El Idolo.

Publicly airing his own resentment of Sammy Guevara, the ex-NXT Champion was swiftly sent home and suspended, where he's remained since. That was in October, almost one month to the day of the infamous events that led to Punk's apparent second exit from professional wrestling, though Andrade hadn't actually wrestled since the day of Punk's actions, 4 September's All Out; in this instance, it's been a torn pectoral surgery that's kept El Idolo out, not merely a suspension.

Andrade would be better suited on AEW's Saturday show. Reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicate that Wednesday's Dynamite crew will be headed up by The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club, whereas Saturday's Collision will have CM Punk and FTR at its forefront. It provides AEW's best opportunity yet to restore buzz in some of its otherwise secondary, Andrade being a key example. He's not been a top draw since his June 2021 arrival. Admittedly, he may never fulfil AEW's vision of such a role, but he absolutely should, and Collision will be the best place to test the waters for his ascendancy.
