Departing WCW in 1992, Lex Luger was signed to the WWF not as a wrestler, but as the face of the World Bodybuilding Federation. His background in the sport was obvious to anyone looking at his physique, so the company must have been delighted to sign Lex up. Inevitably, he later transitioned to the role of wrestler.

At the 1993 Royal Rumble, Luger was unveiled by Bobby Heenan as 'Narcissus' (later, 'The Narcissist'). In storyline, he was in love with admiring his body in a full-length mirror, something Luger later admitted wasn't too far from the truth at the time.

Shifting from heel to babyface that Summer, the 'All American' gimmick Lex played next was an attempt by management to turn him into the next coming of Hulk Hogan. It didn't work, and Luger eventually dwindled back down the card.

By 1995, he was successfully lured to WCW by Eric Bischoff. Re-debuting for the promotion on the first Monday Nitro, he was back in the company that had first given him prosperity in wrestling.

The WWF hadn't pulled the trigger on a World Title run, and Luger would never wrestle for WWE again.
