10 Wrestlers Who Have Peaked In 2022
1. Kevin Owens
Heading into 2022 with a freshly signed new big money deal with WWE, Kevin Owens felt like a star unquestionably happy to simply remain a key a part of the Sports Entertainment machine.
And while he was hovering around the main event scene at the turn of the year, challenging for the WWE Championship at Day 1, many would openly admit that any hopes of KO main eventing that year's Show of Shows, even with a lucrative new contract just being inked, still seemed slim at best.
Yet, in what amounted to one of the most unexpected developments of a consistently absurd twelve months, not only did The Prizefighter go on to close out Night One of WrestleMania 38, but he did so opposite quite possibly the biggest star in the history of the business.
As Owens himself would note in the aftermath of colliding with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in the Texas Rattlesnake's first match in almost two decades, "Well, it's all downhill from here, really." And even with those comments being spoken from an "optimistic point of view", it's quite hard to argue with that summary.
Owens could win the Royal Rumble, lift the big one on The Grandest Stage of Them All, and go on a 5-year-reign with the world title and he'd still struggle to top the feeling of going one-on-one with The Bionic Redneck under the bright lights of WrestleMania.
What a ride, though.
