10 Wrestlers Who Have Peaked In 2022

2. Jon Moxley

CM Punk
AEW

Speaking of the star who went and carried AEW on his shoulders during CM Punk's unanticipated absence(s), is there anyone else genuinely in the conversation for 2022's Best Wrestler in the World outside of Jon Moxley?

Simply not missing whenever he's equipped with a microphone since making a healthy return to the wrestling sphere in January, Mox's connection with his audience has only gone from strength to strength in the wake of his stint in an alcohol rehabilitation program towards the back end of 2021.

And said always passionate and impactful promos have been matched and then some by his unrivalled string of in-ring performances against all manner of opponent since the turn of the year, too.

Whether he's thrown in their with fellow Blackpool Combat Club merchant of violence Bryan Danielson, scrapping with Lionheart, revelling in Anarchy in the Arena, going to bloody war with Nick Gage, or throwing down with The Ace of NJPW, it simply did not matter. Mox has been dependable and delivered the goods time and time again for AEW.

Will he ever be able to eclipse a year that has seen him lift AEW World Championship gold on three separate occasions (admittedly, one of those being an Interim strap) and put on classics in just about ever contest he's been booked in?

Well, he's got another five years to try...
