10 Wrestlers Who Have Peaked In 2022
4. FTR
At one point, it most definitely felt as though 2022 belonged to FTR, and FTR alone.
And who knows, maybe the current ROH, IWGP, and AAA Tag Team Champions may just find a way to end the year with one last almighty peak. But you'd be lying if you said the team honestly feel anywhere near as undeniable as they did around the time they set their sights on The Briscoe Brothers' Ring of Honor straps in April.
It's worth noting that Dax Harwood in particular has enjoyed arguably his greatest ever year in-between the ropes, putting on thrilling one-on-one showings against the likes of CM Punk and Will Ospreay. Whereas Cash Wheeler has absolutely excelled whenever he's been given a moment to showcase his underrated technical prowess, too.
The pair's Dynamite showdown against one another in an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament qualifier was an undoubted highlight for both men in April as well!
But instead of doubling down on the in-form lads right when they appeared to be at their absolute hottest - and at the top of the AEW tag rankings for that matter - TK has routinely refused to throw the seven-star unit into the AEW Tag Team title mix.
Thankfully, this week's AEW Dynamite positioned Dax and Cash as now having the chance to earn a shot at the company's Tag Team Titles, but it shouldn't have taken so long to do that for a tandem which has been #1 in your rankings since April.
Whatever way you slice it, though, even if the magic and momentum of earlier this year isn't recaptured, 2022 will still sit as the year FTR went full seven-star.
