10 Wrestlers Who Refused To Give Fans What They Came For

1. John Cena

John Cena

John Cena knocked back so many opportunities to turn heel.

In interviews, the man has spoken about staying true to the positivity young children expect from a fictional hero. He just wouldn't turn his back on a much-maligned babyface character no matter how many adults begged him to show off the harder edge he had between 2002-2003.

Cena could've turned in 2008 after returning from injury, and he could've done it after losing to The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII. Those are just two glaring examples; Cena could easily have turned heel any time he liked, being honest. He didn't though. Ol' JC sported multi-coloured t-shirts and pushed inspiring messages like, "Rise Above Hate" instead.

He still wouldn't bend towards the end of his full-time career either. Cena was the same old heroic good guy, for better or worse, when he faced Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' head on during 'Mania 36 season. That sought-after heel run may never happen.
