10 Wrestlers Who Seriously Started To Believe Their Own Hype

6. Lex Luger

By his own admission, Lex Luger was an insufferable jerk during the most successful portions of his career. Believing himself to be the best thing since sliced bread, the man has been shockingly honest when recapping his life and career recently, pretty much saying that if he had been made of chocolate in the early-90's, there's a good chance that he would have eaten himself. Possessing a frighteningly well-constructed physique, Luger has since stated that he didn't really treat others around him with respect. According to his own memories, he always tried to treat his peers with reverence, but he believed himself to be above many others around him, and that came across loud and clear. Lex Luger is perhaps a perfect example of somebody who was brought crashing back into reality by illness and personal problems. Suddenly, after years of thinking himself indestructible and untouchable, a spinal injury forced Luger to re-evaluate his entire life, not to mention hang up his wrestling boots for good. Reflective and stunningly honest, Lex has said even he wouldn't have liked himself 20 years ago.
