10 Wrestlers Who Should Challenge Jon Moxley For The Interim AEW World Title
1. Claudio Castagnoli
The former Cesaro signing with AEW appears to be a dream come true for fans. Never given the push his supporters felt he deserved in WWE, now should be the time to should be the time to showcase “The Swiss Superman” as a top guy.
Brought in by Bryan Danielson, perhaps he can follow “The American Dragon’s” example by not waiting his turn but instead making a beeline for the current champion. Of course Castagnoli has yet to build up a decent record yet and AEW is supposed to be the company where wins and losses matter.
That said, it’s easy enough to justify the match in storyline. Given Eddie Kingston’s well known issues with Castagnoli, Eddie’s best friend Moxley might reasonably be skeptical of the new member of Blackpool Combat Club being thrust upon him for Blood And Guts.
No doubt the bloodshed across the two rings on Wednesday has earned some grudging respect but doesn’t Mox like to bleed with people BEFORE he teams with them? He could lay down a challenge to “The King Of The Big Swing” to make him a permanent BCC member. Claudio could accept the challenge with one condition of his own. Moxley needs to put the interim title on the line.
The result could go either way too. Many fans would be keen to see Claudio finally hold a world title but equally, as with Danielson losing to Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page, Claudio could lose to an in form Jon Moxley without losing any credibility.
