10 Wrestlers Who Should Return To WWE NXT
4. Butch
Is it too early to say Pete Dunne needs to go back to NXT? Maybe. Time will tell if Butch is able to find his footing on the main roster alongside Sheamus and Ridge Holland, but boy... it doesn't look promising.
While wrestlers having their name changed when they arrive in WWE is nothing new, Butch seems to be stripped away of everything that fans loved about The Bruiserweight. Trading in his name, singlet, and any semblance of a unique character has left Pete Dunne looking like an extra in Peaky Blinders over a WWE superstar. Fans of the popular Netflix show might be excited to see this emerging faction, but wrestling fans who have followed Dunne from the NXT United Kingdom Tournament, and even before, can not be happy to see this change.
The one saving grace for Butch is that anyone who has seen the Birmingham native wrestle knows that he is one of the best in the world. With a roster on Friday nights featuring Ricochet, Sami Zayn, Drew McIntyre and others, there are a number of potential show-stealing matchups for Butch. At only 25 years old, the former NXT UK Champion could have a long future ahead of him in WWE.
Despite his stellar in-ring skill, don't hold your breath on the future of Butch. While Pete Dunne may be dead, an eventual return to NXT should not be out of the question for The Bruiserweight.
