10 Wrestlers Who Still Have Something To Prove In AEW
4. Jake Hager
Jake Hager is reliably amusing alongside Chris Jericho and he has real MMA legitimacy but he’s yet to really impress in the ring.
AEW have plenty of impressive workers and Hager is perfectly entertaining as The Inner Circle’s deadpan enforcer but big match programmes with Dustin Rhodes and Jon Moxley haven’t delivered on even cautious expectations.
Generally, even if AEW slightly botch the build to a match, the talent can be relied upon to deliver. Conversely, fans should be salivating at every single Hager/Wardlow tease but there’s the sneaking suspicion based on “Big Hurt’s” track record that the match can’t and won’t deliver.
Perhaps Hager is happy to simply play along as Jericho’s big buddy and occasional tag partner but if he wants to prove himself worthy of the promotion's “Elite” tag, he needs to do more.
