Widely regarded as one of the greatest, most important workers in professional wrestling history, Lou Thesz debuted at just 16 years of age and quickly took the 1930s professional wrestling world by storm.

A 15 time world champion, Thesz bagged his first world title win at 21 years old. His win came over Everrett Graham for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship on December 29, 1937 and made him the youngest world champion of all time, a record he holds to this day.

Widely lauded for his expansive mastery of catch wrestling, speed and ring conditioning, the young Thesz was a huge draw to the fans of the time. Before he turned 25, Thesz won his first of 3 NWA World Heavyweight Championships with another win over Marshall in 1939.

Trained by the legendary Ed ‘Strangler’ Lewis, Thesz also received intensive work in several forms of wrestling under Ray Steele. This extensive knowledge and experience in various forms of wrestling both worked and competitive added greatly to Thesz’s performances between the ropes.

Thesz would go onto become a dominant champion and presence for many years to come.
