10 Wrestlers Who Were Unmasked In The Ring
9. Jushin Liger
Keiichi Yamada is a true veteran of the wrestling scene, only retiring earlier this year at the age of fifty-five. The most famous characters that he portrayed were Jushin Liger and later Jushin Thunder Liger.
Being an active wrestler for more than thirty-five years and completing somewhere upwards of four thousand matches, the man from Hiroshima, Japan donned his mask all around the world in most major promotions of the time both in the Far East and North America.
In stark contrast to the others on this list, Jushin Liger was unmasked on several different occasions, but bears the distinction of having done it to himself rather than it happening because of a loss, an accident or a storyline.
On a number of occasions, Jushin Liger would remove his mask either to foil an opponent's attempts to do it or simply to unleash his alter-ego Kishin Liger. Kishin was noted to be brutally violent and demonstrate almost murderous rage - enough to make anyone regret the mask ever coming off.
The Great Muta and Minoru Suzuki are two notable names that have seen the mask removed and (barely) lived to regret it.
